Reference: Server management

When a broadcast is started, BS-Server uploads an index page in the target directory specified by the URL of this group of controls. This HTML page serves as a home page to your broadcast, giving useful information about bandwidth, startup time, and explaining how to receive your broadcast with BS-Tuner.

The purpose of this form is to customize this index page. Open it from the menu bar, Command / Server management.

File name

Enter the name of the HTML file which will be created on the web server to serve as an index page. The name "index.htm" works in most cases, but some web servers may require "index.html" or "default.htm". If you prefer to make an index page of your own, change this name to something entirely different, like "broadcast_info.htm".

Title

This is the title of your broadcast. It will be used as a title for the index page, and displayed in BS-Tuner's title bar.

Description

The text entered here will be inserted in the body of the index page. This text is HTML, so use <br> for line breaks and <p> for paragraphs.

Image

This is the path, in your computer, of a picture (JPG, PNG or BMP) which will be inserted in the index page.

Browse folders button

Click it to open a file system browser, to easily select the image.

Keywords multiline textbox

Type each keyword on a distinct line, don't use commas nor any other separator character. These keywords will be inserted in a "Keywords" HTML META tag for proper indexing by most search engines.

Server Management

With Server Management, you get detailed informations about who is receiving your broadcast, when, and for how long. You can also limit the amount of bandwidth consumed by your web server by setting a maximum number of concurrent BS-Tuner connections.

Enabled

Check this box to enable server management. Uncheck it to disable this feature. BS-Server will work fine without it, but you won't know who is receiving your broadcast, and you won't have any control over your bandwith usage.
Server Management is disabled in the free version of BS-Server.

Management URL

Specifies the URL of the directory where the BS-Server Management Service is installed. It is currently available on our servers, but the Management Service may be distributed in the future.
This URL is required if "Enabled" is checked.

Management password

A password is required to connect to the BS-Server Management Service. You get this password when purchasing your license of BS-Server.

Test button

After setting the Management server URL and password, you can click this button to check that the BS-Server Management Service is responding properly.

Maximum players

Specifies the maximum number of concurrent connections to your broadcast, to limit bandwidth usage on your web server.

View Connections log button

This button Opens the connections log on the management server with your default browser. This log shows how many players are currently connected, how long they have been watching your broadcast, how much bandwidth they have consumed, etc. This information is available only if Server Management is enabled (see above).
